Anyone here follow the NRL?

I've never been a footy person, as in watching it. But my friends have been getting into gridiron, and have always been into the NRL. So on Saturday we went to the game, The Sea Eagles vs. The Bulldogs.. GO THE SEA EAGLES! (I'm from Manly, ya see..)

It was an awesome night and it's gotten me interested in the NRL. Here's what we did, or the events worth reading (we = myself, Sian, Megan and Chloe) in point form.

• Megan took two signs ("That's Gold!", "Menzies For PM") and, thanks to me, got the Menzies one signed by.. well, Menzies.
• We were shouting throughout the whole game.. I even did a "You Suck!" Kurt Angle chant, to which my friends joined in with.. haha, typical.
• When the Eagles won, we were all jumping up and down and yelling at the Bulldogs kid who was yelled at us before the game. He wasn't too happy.
• After abusing the kid, we ran up and down the chair isles in the stadium, screaming.
• We got shooed out of the stadium place so we were running around through the crowds - Chloe had her Eagles scarf, Megan had her Eagles cloak/flag thing, Sian had the "That's Gold" and I had the Menzies sign.. this dude wanted to take a photo of the Menzies sign, so I let him - I didn't want to be in it so they took Sian, Chloe and Megan with it.
• We were shouting and screaming throughout the car park, "WHOOOO! GO THE EAGLES!" and we had other Eagles fans yelling with us.
• On the car drive home, we had Megans cloak/flag thing hanging out the window and just yelling and shouting and screaming and all out the windows, "GO THE SEA EAGLES, C'MON MANLY! WHOOOOO!". We call it Random Drive-By Screamings.

You think that was alot? Nothing at all - I could of typed up the funny things that were said during the day/night.. I will if asked.

And to the point again - anyone else here follow NRL?

Went to see them defeat that dismal team Souths and earlier in the seasom went to see Melbourne at Brooky

Manly are a good team Sarah! Not championship material but still decent

I hav supported da bulldogs for 4 yrs now..so i wasnt vry happy bout the fact that they lost. I dont kno if u kno the rulz too well sarah coz u said u hadnt been watchin it that long, but Braith Anasta did not knock that ball on, it shuld hav def. been a try to the doggies, and plus sea eagles simply dont beat the bulldogs!! lol..well this is the first time since 1996 eagles hav beaten us:( But we DO have like 8 playerz out with injury...and they are all good ones...mason, o meley, sonny bill, tonga, lolesi, perry, harris..this list is endless. But none the lest eagles played well..congrats to all the eagles supporters...but ill leave u with a warning...BULLDOGS WILL NOT ONLY BE 2004 PREMS...BUT THEY WILL ALSO BE 2005 PREMIERS!!!

Didn't the Bulldogs have some rape trial? That's what Sian told me.. she's all like "I hate the Bulldogs because they raped a bunch of women" - I can remember it being on the news but I don't remember what team it was.. anyone?

Well my friends call AFL "GayFL" and I overheard my uncle say "Ya know what AFL stands for? Anal Football League." (lucky my aunt didn't hear that.. saying something like that around the kiddies) so go figure!

Yeah, I'm an AFL boy all the way. I play for club and I know Nicho does too.......good fun:)

Nicho you are right about AFL needing more skill because AFL is certainly not gay...The best athletes in the world play it in my view! I am still a bigger league fan tho and even then a bigger football fan (Soccer)...The one thign I hate...That awful game Rugby Union

i didnt say afl needed more skill..... anyway call me stupid but rugby union, NRL... they just seem the same to me lol!... the only time i watch rugby is when the world cup is on!!

I perfer Rugby Union to league. I dunno why, it is more similar to AFL meaning I like it better than league.
