The show opens with the usual DUEW Sunburn video, before the show crosses over to the arena, where JJ and Tom C welcome us to another big night in the history of Down Under Extreme Wrestling. They run down the card for the night and then tell us there is something interesting happening.
The shot goes to the backstage area, where a video camera is peeking through a small gap in an unclosed door. The room inside is dark but we here a gruff voice say “It’s a deal”. The door quickly opens and we see Nightmare in the background staring on, with Matt Hare rushing from the room, knocking the cameraman down in the process. The camera goes off, broken and we go back to the arena where Joey is coming to the ring to defend his Australian championship
JJ and Tom C quickly run through the situation going into the Australian title match, with the tension between the stable mates Joey and Julio over who would win the match. Julio then makes his way to the ring, unaccompanied by Matt Hare.
The match is long and extremely varied, going from a slow mat-wrestling feast at the start, to highflying action through to a brawl on the outside. Julio gets the advantage over Joey and goes back inside the ring. He waits for Joey to get closer to the apron before going to hit a plancha over the top rope to the outside, but Joey sees it coming and hits a hot shot onto Julio before he can spring over the ropes
The commentators marvel at the move as Joey enters the ring. He goes to pick up Julio but Julio rakes his eyes and Joey stumbles back, his elbow hitting the ref in the face on the way. Joey turns around quickly, unphased and goes to pick up Julio but the light flashes off and Nightmare appears.
Joey and Nightmare begin to brawl and Joey gives as good as he gets and he looks to be gaining momentum when Julio low blows him. Suddenly Matt Hare is in the ring with a chair in hand. He glances at Joey with a moment of hesitation, but furrows his brow and smashes Joey in the head. The lights go out and Nightmare has disappeared, Matt Hare on the outside, chair in hand, Joey’s blood smeared on it. Julio quickly calls the ref over and gets the three count and title win.
Hare and Julio celebrate the new champion and walk up the ramp, as Joey slowly wakes up and looks on in anger. The shot then goes backstage, where Hare and Julio have just walked into the back. They are shouting and have been given a bottle of champagne. Julio shakes it up and pops it and it sprays everywhere. Hare and Julio get a worried look on their face as the camera turns
We see Lover standing there, behind his babes, the first few having been drenched in the skimpy outfits by the champagne, but they don’t seem to mind too much. Lover shakes his head at the two men and simply says, “That was low what you did out there, really low”. He walks past them and Julio shouts back at him “You’ll get yours soon too Lover boy”
The shot then goes back inside the arena, where Lover is making his entrance. He gets in the ring and begins to cut a promo, as his babes leave through the crowd, mingling on their way. Lover says that this company is becoming low, what Bret Hart did last week to him, Julio and Ken was low. He said that what Julio, Hare and Nightmare just did to Joey was low. That’s why he is taking one back for the people and is going to pound Bret Hart within an inch of his life
Bret Hart’s music hits immediately and he comes out with Jimmy Hart right behind him. Bret walks to the ring and the two begin fighting immediately, with Bret starting the action with a double leg take down, which Lover then counters with a monkey flip, before kipping up and knocking Bret out of the ring
Lover dives outside and smashes into Jimmy Hart by accident, as Bret pulls him in his way. Bret quickly takes advantage and gets a bunch of body shots in on Lover, before rolling him into the ring and doing the same. After a while Bret hits a backbreaker and shouts to the crowd, who boo him back. He approaches Lover and goes to lock on the Sharpshooter but gets kicked away and as he walks back gets a Love Hit
Lover looks to have won the match when Hare and Julio rush the ring and begin pounding away at Lover. Bret Hart goes to stop them but Julio low blows him and clotheslines him down, shouting, “That was for last week”. The ref calls for the bell and this one is a no contest. Bret quickly leaves the two to take Lover apart and they do so, until Ken Paradise rushes the ring to save his brother, shouting at Hare, “I’ll see you later. You better be ready”
The camera goes backstage where Joey Malone is watching a television set, a bloodied ice bag on his skull, shaking his head at Matt and Julio’s actions. Nicho comes in and asks him if he is ok, but Joey simply demands a rematch at that very instant. Nicho says he knows he was wronged but he can’t give him one now. Joey says that if Nicho won’t give him a chance for revenge, then he will simply take that revenge, before walking out of the room, throwing the ice bag at the wall on the way
The shot cuts back to the arena now, where Lemmy is on the way to the ring to have a go for the Deathmatch title. JJ and Tom C ask if Disturbed will show up tonight and for that matter, where was Jonny Stripes. Their questions were soon to be answered.
Instead of Disturbed’s music playing out, “Kashmir” blasts through the speakers. The majority of the crowd boos him, as he comes out without his World title, instead wearing the Deathmatch title. The crowd is a little confused, as are Lemmy, Tom C and JJ. Jonny gets in the ring and says that he has turned a new leaf…again. He is working on freeing Disturbed
Lemmy says that if Disturbed isn’t hear, then he will beat the hell outta Jonny and take it, cos either way he is leaving the DUEW/Sony Arena with the Deathmatch title. Jonny smiles and says that Disturbed was a fighting champion, but because of the nature of jail he couldn’t be hear tonight to compete. Lemmy raises his fist in anger but Jonny calms him down and continues
He says that he is here to give the title to someone, someone who deserves it. That person is Lemmy Campbell but it comes under a condition. Lemmy says he is a fighting champion too and that he is here for the people. Jonny says Disturbed and he were talking and agreed it would be best if, with Dizzy being the greatest Deathmatch champion in history and Jonny being the current King of the Deathmatch, that very same tournament continued
Lemmy Campbell looked out dramatically at the crowd and then takes the title from Jonny’s hands and calls for a couple of beers. Jonny and Lemmy share a beer each as Lemmys theme music plays out. Then all of a sudden the lights go out and Nightmare is in the ring as the come back on but Jonny and Lemmy are walking up the ramp instead
The two champions open another beer at the top of the ramp and laugh at Nightmare, who is alone in the ring, looking on in anger, as the World and Deathmatch champions scull a beer at the top of the ramp and leave for the back
The shot goes back to the backstage area; where Matt Hare and Julio are smiling at a TV monitor, while standing in the DUEW interview area with Kim. Hare looks at Kim and pushes her away, moving closer to the camera with Julio. Hare says that was lovely, the changing of champions out there, but Jonny won’t be celebrating long because tonight….Hare gets cut off as Julio and he bolt away from the interview set, as a still bloodied but stitched up Joey runs into the area
Joey turns to the camera and gets right up close to it, holding it on a slight angle. He says that for the third time in less than a year his best friends betrayed him. First it was Boris Levin and Kitty Rousseau, and then it was Bret Hart. Now it is Hare and Julio. He then goes on to say that Boris is still on the injured list, Kitty is still sleeping around and Bret hasn’t done anything since. Hare and Julio made the biggest mistake of their career, because when you cross Joey Malone it only means one thing: Bad Luck for you
The show goes back over to the arena where a slightly red in the face Hare and Julio are making their ways to the ring. They walk down and quickly begin setting up tables in preparation for the match ahead. Ken makes his way down too, with Lover by his side. The brothers rush the ring and the action starts soon after
It is a typical TLC matches with great spots, including a T-Bone type suplex off a ladder by Ken, a flapjack through a chair by Hare on Ken and a dive from the ladder to the outside by Ken onto Julio and Hare. All throughout the match Julio tries to interfere and just as Ken gets a big advantage after a backdrop puts Hare through a table, Julio interferes but Lover keeps him busy. Ken climbs the ladder and is about to win when the lights go off and Nightmare yet again appears.
He quickly goes to the top of the ladder and grabs Ken by the throat. Ken tries to fight free with punches to the head but Nightmares grip is too tight and the pair goes flying off the ladder, Nightmare driving Ken into the mat. Hare slowly recovers and climbs to the top, Lover still busy with Julio on the outside, and rips down the contract, becoming the new No.1 Contender
The ring crew cleans up the mess as Lover escorts his brother to the backstage area, while Matt and Julio make their way out too. Nightmare gets on the mike and fills in the time by talking about how he is going to win the title tonight. After a minute “Kashmir” plays and Jonny comes out, mike in hand and says while half running down the ramp that talk is cheap and they should get this over with like real men
The fight begins straight away and it is by far the most violent non-weapons match in DUEW history, with hardly a wrestling move being made. The fight goes for a solid 5 minutes before Jonny gains the upper hand absolutely and looks to be on his way to retaining.
Then Hare and Julio rush the ring but Jonny is ready and he fights them off quickly. Ken and Lover come down too to help Jonny out and Lover takes Julio outside the ring. Ken starts to fight alongside Jonny against Nightmare and Hare but Jonny gets taken out of the equation, leaving Ken to bravely fistfight Nightmare. He is soon overpowered and Hare takes him out with a lethal chair shot.
The two men stalk Ken more and it looks all over when Joey rushes to the ring with a bag of ice on his head again. He slides in and hurls the bag across the ring, smacking Hare right in the side of the head. Joey then goes to fight Nightmare but his dropkick ends up hitting Jonny. Jonny stumbles into Nightmare, who is waiting with a chokeslam. Joey starts to fight Hare and quickly overpowers him but as he turns Nightmare has gotten the 3 count and wins the title
Nightmare gets up and hits a big boot on Joey, but suddenly Hare smashes his back with the chair. Nightmare hardly blinks and turns to grab the No.1 Contender but he runs and drops the chair. Nightmare turns and picks up Joey and hits a Tombstone Piledriver, right onto the steel chair. The ref gives him the World title and the show goes to close out when “In the End” by Linkin’ Park plays out
Nicho stands on the ramp and congratulates Nightmare, Hare and Julio on closing the deal as planned. But it wasn’t good enough because every action has a reaction. That’s why at Wacky Wednesday the man who got screwed tonight for the title shot, Ken Paradise, is added to the match and to make things worse, Joey Malone is gonna be thrown in the mix too, if he can make the match
Nightmare is going skitz in the ring and shouts that it was unfair but Nicho continues speaking. At Wacky Wednesday we are gonna have an open invitation to all past and present DUEW stars to fight it out for Lemmy’s Deathmatch title in King of the Deathmatch and Julio would defend his Aussie title against Lover. The show closes with Nightmare in the ring, holding his title out to Nicho, who shakes his head at Nightmare
