Seriously, I say that you'se admins need to give a few of us members some admin powers. I see Nicho slogging his guts out but when was Damo on here last?
Me, Diz, Lover, Matty, Pyro, we could all handle admin duties between us cos Damo you are never on anymore and Nicho is flat out all the time
Give one of us the power to make boards, one of us to delete posts, lock threads etc...
This is how I think you should rank it personally:
Two SuperMods and three Mods. Each position goes to the five I mentioned above and you allocate us roles. As a SuperMod you'd have more power and responisiblities. I don't know if you can give out selected admin responisibilities but you can trust us 5 to stick to our roles and our roles only
I know at the moment I do the History and the Power 5 but we can all do things. I know we don't have trouble on here often but just to have those safeguards in place cos you never know what is gonna happen. Nichos computer knocked out for a week, bam, we are fucked with no leader. However if you give the two SuperMods provisionary power in that situation, bam, the problem is no longer there
So here is my proposal and who would fill each role:
First up, I'd put my hand up for one of the SuperMod roles and if i was wanted I'd fulfill it. Anyone of us five could do it but I would personally say Chris would be best here, with Matt, Bo (Lover) and Pyro (Your name escapes me...) rounding off the Mod roles. But as I said, any of us could do any of the roles so dont take my word as gospel...not that I think anyone here does
To break down the roles I'd say that one of the mods is responsible for welcoming in any new members with a PM as soon as they see they have signed up. They ask them to fill out their application with the template we provide and be reasonable with their stats (no 175 pounders doing Super Powerbombs). They also should advise them what to do with their first rp and then send them onto Nicho for how to get them into a storyline. This way we should have a higher success rate with who joins and stay with us. Personally I think Bo would be best at this cos he is a pretty friendly guy and is pretty patient too
Onto the role of the second Mod. This one is about the presentation of the boards and who better than the self proclaimed perfectionist, Matty. Personally I think this role should involve the proof reading (basically a spell check) of all roleplays and results. It kinda ticks me off that some people have atrocious spelling (and i ain't talking about the Bulgarian guys here. In fact Pyro is one of the best) and I reckon that with stupid things like spelling mistakes we make ourselves look simply unprofessional and thus not appealing. I mean seriously, with the heading of "A proudley Australian E-Fed. With an exiting deathmatch devision" who would take us seriously? Thats my proposed role for Mod No.2
Mod No.3 (Pyro) would be a basic maintanence kind of guy, scouring the forums for any inappropriate behaviour or material posted. He would also be a mediator for any arguments and once he felt they were getting beyond constructive arguments he would ask those involved to take it outside and PM each other instead and don't make it public. IMO, he should also be in charge of the Multimedia board (maybe he and Matt can share)
SuperMod No.1, who I feel i would be suited to, would work in two capacities: 1- The creation of boards and 2- Feedback for rps...I really think that the last one is especially important, because sometimes (esp. with Joey) I feel lost as to the reaction from you guys that I am getting.
SuperMod No.2 (Chris) would serve in a few roles also: 1- Our G-fx Coordinator, someone who runs the G-fx forum and gives feedback to everything posted by every member, as well as posting his own and being our sig request guy and No.2- Not a specific role so much, but when trouble is brewing he takes action (along with Nicho)
Also, I feel that as us 5 are the veterans of DUEW so to speak we should, at the start of each month, discuss where the creative lines of the fed are going. At the moment our "midcard" are simply not being booked in feuds, but rather just random matches. We should discuss where everyones characters are going and where it will eventuate at each months PPV.
This isn't take power away from you Nicho, but I really feel it would be in the benefits of DUEW cos at the moment we just got no real direction. The Howard storyline has died on its feet and that should have carried us for the next month at least. We got a feud between me and Diz that can't be done for the World Title because of some silly stipulation and I see the likes of Matt, Lover, Ken, Nightmare, Joey and Pyro going to waste because of the non existent booking
