I have noticed recently that a few new people joining have been doing so with pretty much WWE copies of wrestlers. In many cases the names aren't even different, and if they are they are kind of altered names of people already there
The four I am talking about are Maria, Hunter (formerly known as Shazzer), Nightmare and Kane
I always thought our e-fed was based on originality and it was because of this that I never thought twice about the Bulgarian bros using Bret and Austin, because in actualality it could very well happen
But now I see Nightmare is basically Undertaker. I mean that Unholy wedding was exactly the same as the Undertakers one, when he was with the Ministry
Then we have Maria and Hunter, whose only difference from their real characters being their places of birth in Australia
And Kane, well that has even acknowledged the link between WWE storylines with the whole Paul Bearer thing
I know there is nothing in the rules to say "No WWE superstars" but this isn't the right direction for the fed. As a senior member of DUEW I don't want to see us go this way, because as I said before we are based on originality and the uniqueness of being an Australian e-fed
We got some very original characters in this efed, with some very original storylines to go with them and that is because we have tried
So I want to ask new members in the future to try to use some initiative and be innovative and try and crack DUEW the hard way, with your own gimmick, with your own ideas, not leeching off of WWE or anyone else
Comments people? Feedback to what I think?

Stripes i told you on MSN, im changing my character around, just have to sit back and see what i mean  And for the wedding, the hole thing was not word for word copy from the hole thing, the hole wedding yes the base from the 99 wedding, but if it was exactly the same i would have had the girl named Stephanie and all. As for Paul Bearer and me, ive had the Nightmare/Paul Bearer storyline for nearly 4 years now in numrous of other e-Feds, if you dont like it im happy to get rid of Paul, but then, my character gets ruined. P.S: since ive debuted, all my storylines/segments were not copied from Undertaker, you can ask Nicho when i was in a previous e-Fed. |

I ain't saying you have to change your characters, nor am I saying everything you do is a rip off Nightmare. I am merely observing that we are getting less and less "original" characters and more and more ones that are derived from existing ones
And as far as the wedding goes, it was a copy of Takers. Replace Taker with Nightmare, The Ministry for 4 randoms, Steph for a random and Austin for Lover amd you got yourself Takers Black Wedding! Word for word? No but the concept is so similar that saying they are the same is not necesarily incorrect
And for your character change, well I won't spoil the ending for those playing at home but that sounds very similar to a certain Undertaker storyline...

Well yes it does sound like one, but at the moment im in a cast, i cant type propley and i needed a little help from one of his old segments and this probaly is the only 'Takler" done segment in a long time, my Nightmare character isnt meant be a rip off Undertaker, mine is juist simply a sick, weird character, that is a "follower" of Taker. And if some people replied to certain segments ive wrote out, i go out of the way to type "____'s music hits the arena and Nightmare isnt happy!" hoping that person would reply in the post to countine the segment, but since then ive come here, half the time no one's replied, so it makes the post/segment worthless and crap! no hard feelings here by the way stripes |

No hard feelings what so ever...I know the one rp you did that I could have replied to you said Lover would be best, so I thought "I'll leave that for now, if Lover doesnt reply I will" but then it slipped my mind

Anyway, I'm sorry if this offends anyone - and I know it will...but I hate people using real characters. Be original for God's sakes! Plus, it is MUCH more fun to use a created wrestler because you can do whatever you want with him/her, you can revolve it around what you think would be the perfect package, but you can't do that with an already existant wrestler. So if it was my choice I would make a rule for no copies. But hey, I'm not boss here, now am I? |

It is free world and every body have the right to chose. That is why we are people, to chose, to make mistakes and to learn from them. (I don't say picking any of charecters is mistake. I really enjoy writing with them.)
