Rey Misterio injured

PWInsider is reporting that Rey Mysterio has been working through a really bad knee injury for a while now. It's said that he will need surgery, but doesn’t want to take any time off because this is his time on top in the company and the Smackdown roster is pretty light right now.

It's likely that WWE will wait until Batista comes back to Smackdown before they take the title off Rey.

Whenever the title does come off Rey, he will likely get checked out by a doctor and scheduled for surgery.

Gay. Batista isn't meant to be back for a while now, so I guess he's going to have to work through it and have a minimal(sp?) amount of matches - which is sad because his time as World Champ shouldn't be remembered as half-assed matches and little TV time.

I wish RVD cashed in his contract against Rey at ONS2, it would make so much more sense (and have a much better match and crowd reaction) than if he does with Sheena. Oh well, what can you expect?
