This past week, DUEW editor, Liam Kenneley interviewed a forner three time Australian Champion, and the man who has been playing the role of General Manager - Nicho "Z." Here is what Nicho had to say;
Nicho, we all know that you are the new General Manager of DUEW, in particular Sunburn. Are you planning on sticking with this role, or is it simply a 'breather' to rest any injuries you may have?
Um there is defently no injuries I'm trying to cover up, this General Mangers position is like a gift to me and I'd love to stick with this role, it has really been an honor to manage the fed, and its real interesting to see what the fed is like on a more proffesional side of things, But I will hint, that one day Nicho 'Z' will be back full time performing for the millions of DUEW fans in the middle of the squared circle!
Being a three time Australian Champion, you are a very accomplished and experienced wrestler. Do you think DUEW has a good range of talent? Or do you think it is leaning more towards one style?
Um, defently not leaning towards one style, I think you can put us down in the "Extreme" genre, but at the same time, we got great old school mat wrestlers too, well to some it all up, we got a good range of different wrestlers with different abilities and its always good to change things around, because people do get sick of watching the same stuff everyday, and thats the good thing about DUEW we aint doing the same things week in and week out, and we defently dont have wrestlers that are on any sort of restrictions unlike some promotions! We are definately one of thr most experienced promotions when it comes to dealing with different types of styles and personalities.
Speaking of experience, was DUEW the first promotion you ever wrestled in?
Well First big Promotion ... yes, I was however involved in a little fed back in Perth that got me started on the basics and so on, but then I heard that some talent scout was in town and out of every wrestler in perth I was 1 of about 4 to get picked out and got offered a contract for a big wrestling promotion. That meant so much for my self-confidence and most importantly, it gave me my first taste of big-time wrestling!
Originating from Atlanta, Georgia, how do you feel about representing Australia in DUEW vs The World?
Well I was born in Atlanta, and many may say I am American, but I moved here when I was young and from then on I was proud to call myself Aussie, and Australia was my new home from that time... as far as DUEW versus The World goes, I say "bring them on," the world will find out what DUEW is made of, and especially the American's who have done nothing but critisize our wrestling ability... we all know they can walk the walk, but can they talk the talk?!
Have you got any plans on who your partner is going to be at DUEW vs The World?
Yes! I know exactly who my partner is but I'm not going to say nothing. Everyone will be suprised on the night and actully I'm suprised she agree'd to team with me! However I will give you all a clue; 'She' can get violent!
Finally, what is your opinion on 'The Golden Arches' forcing DUEW off television?
Haha, haha. I knew this question was going to pop up sooner or later. I could answer, but I wont mean it, because if I answered truthfully, it would only get me and DUEW in more trouble! So for that question... No Comment!
