This past Sunburn, Brett Hart was meant to face off against Joey Malone in a singles match. But instead of wrestling the match, Jimmy Hart came out and told the fans that Brett refuses to wrestle Joey because he is 'too good for that.' In response to this, Joey Malone came out and beat up Jimmy - then issuing a challenge for a submission match for next week.
DUEW.com caught up with Brett right after the show and asked him a few questions.
Brett, you have one of the most exciting histories in all of wrestling. What is the biggest event or scandal you have ever been involved in?
You're right. I have got the best stories to tell, I have had the best matches, and I have been screwed harder than anyone has ever been screwed in the wrestling business. On that note, I would say that the Montreal Screwjob would be the biggest thing that has happened in my career, simply because it was the most disgusting, inhumain thing that I have seen in my many years in the industry.
If you think Vince McMahon is such a bad man, why did you agree to be accepted in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Why do you think?! It's one of the greatest honours you can get in wrestling...that's why. And since you didn't do your research you unproffessional brat, I didn't participate in Wrestlemania ceremony - and that was because I thought it would be in my best intrests to screw Vince over just a little bit as much as he screwed me!
Back to DUEW, why did you refuse to compete at Sunburn? Joey Malone is a former Australian, Deathmatch and Tag Team champion and you say he is not good enough to wrestle you? I think that is out of line.
I think you're out of line, bud. I refused to wrestle that guy because, as I've said over and over before, I'm the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be! Joey Malone is a dint in the side of the car compared to me! And that is why I refused to wrestle that son of a bitch tonight.
On that note, do you accept Mr Malone's challenge for a submission match for next week's Sunburn?
You know what, I do! I may be contradictigng my self...but I'm going to accept the match to prove a point. To prove to Joesph Malone that he is nothing compared to me. So, Joey - I'll see you next Friday!
