The show opens with “Life in the Fast Lane” blaring out and the DUEW Introduction video playing. Shots of all the wrestlers flash on the screen and then finally the screen goes black, with the words “DUEW- Down Under Extreme Wrestling” in white. Then the shot goes live to the Sony DUEW Arena, where the crowd is psyched for the 9 huge matches on the card. Tom C introduces us and welcomes us to DUEW and tells us we are going straight over to the lovely Kim, who has Nicho “Z” standing by for an interview
*Camera cuts to Kim*
Kim: I am here with none other then the challenger tonight for the Aussie title... Nicho "Z"!
(Crowed cheer in the background)
Kim: so how do you feel Nicho about tonight’s title match up?
Nicho: well I'm pretty confident about it all, I mean vie said it 100 times, once that belt comes home it doesn’t only represent me, it represents all my boys and gals out there!
(Crowed cheer in the background)
Kim: well I wish you all the best but how do you feel about-facing Joey in a match only moments before your big Aussie title match up?
Nicho: look my main focus is the Aussie title tonight, win lose or draw against Joey, as long as I come home with that Aussie title around my waist. I’m happy!
Kim: well thanks for your spare time here nicho 'Z', and I wish you all the best for your 2 matches!
Nicho: thanks Kim!
*Nicho walks away*
*Kim then looks at the camera and raises the mike to her mouth*
Kim: well there you have it folks, nicho "Z" himself has told you first hand on what he is thinking about tonight, This aussie title match will go down in the books as one of the greatest ever! back to you Tom!
The shot goes back to arena and we find Angie Ryker’s music playing. She walks out to a chorus of boos and catcalls but ignores them and enters the ring. Then “You Start the Fire” plays and Bret Hart walks out to even more boos.
In the ring the two lock up and manage to make an average match. Seeing as it is a part of the Disturbed Invitational the match was no DQ, which meant that Bret snuck in the ring bell. When Angie charged for a clothesline Bret pulled the bell from under him and knocked Angie out, getting a win and going to the next round
While the ring is being cleaned up the commentators begin to talk about the next match, between best friends Steve Austin and Lemmy Campbell. A short tape, recapping the pairs DUEW history as a team plays, starting from the War Games and ending with two shots of the pair, staring at each other.
Then Lemmy comes out, a big smile on his face. He has a beer in his hand, which he crushes over his head, before giving it (empty) to a little boy in the crowd.
Then the sound of glass smashes hits the speakers and Austin comes out, snarling and drinking. He gets into the ring and he and Lemmy move around tentatively, neither one wanting to draw first blood on his opponents. Then as Lemmy is about to lock up Austin ducks away and pulls a can from his pocket. He throws it to Lemmy, who takes a look at it and frowns. It says “Light Beer- 1.5% alcohol”. Lemmy throws it to the ground and clotheslines Austin. Lemmy then goes on to dominate most of the match, finishing it by hitting a low blow, beer can on the head and a DDT, getting a 3 count and the win.
Next we see Lance and Luda backstage, Jimmy talking to them
Lance: “What the hell do you think your playing at?”
Jimmy: “Look, I am a man of my word, the deal will go ahead, but I am too good to fight in this match. You three are just small little potatoes and I am the farmer, bringing all of you to the blade”
Jimmy smirks and walks out of the room
Lance: “Don’t worry man, we don’t need that piece of shit anyway”
Luda: “I hear you brother”
Lance and Luda shake hands and leave the room together
The shot then goes back to the arena, where Tom C and JJ are talking about how confused they are with the whole tag team situation. In the background we can see workers attatching boards with barbed wire to the outside. The workers scurry away, just finishing their job as Animal comes out to fight.
Soon after Pyro follows and the match begins. Animal takes early control, ripping a board off of the Cell and whacking Pyro with it on his head and back. Animal breaks the cage door down and takes Pyro with him. When Animal is about to climb the Cell, Pyro slams his head into the Cell. Then as Animal stumbles backwards Pyro performs the “Ultimate Hit” onto a board and picks up the win
While the wire is being taken from the Cell and it is being raised the show moves to outside of Disturbed’s bar, Thin Lizzys, which is home to the next match between Nicho and Joey. Joey is there, with a couple of refs and officials but there is no sign of Nicho. Suddenly a phone call comes in and it is handed to Joey. He looks a little shocked and then says “So I win then?” The ref raises Joeys hand in the air and signifies he has won the match by default
Back in the arena Tom C is telling us that there has been a shocking development backstage and Nicho has been the unfortunate subject of another mystery attack. It is unknown if he will be able to make ADDU, let alone his Aussie Title match tonight. Then they say that we need to move on to our first title match for the night and we see that Lance and Luda are in the ring. They are waiting and soon Lover comes out and the match begins
Lance and Luda begin to beat down on Lover and soon Lance is ready to pin Lover when all of a sudden Jimmys music hits and he comes down. He gets a mike and tells the two of them that although he is a man of his word he is too good for them or a tag match. He goes to leave the ring but turns at the last moment and knocks down both Luda and Lance. He beats on them, performing a couple of diving elbows on them and then a few moves. He then drags Lance to the corner and tags himself in officially. Jimmy then goes to Lover, picks him up and performs a choke sweep, knocking Lover onto his back very hard. He bends down and pins Lover, getting the win. The ref raises Jimmys arm and gives him both tag titles. Jimmy laughs and throws them at Lance and Luda, saying to them I am a man of my word. Lance and Luda jump up together and land a few punches on him but Jimmy gets out of the ring, leaving Lance and Luda with the tag titles.
The commentators talk for a bit about what happened and then we see Mr. Howard talking to Jimmy who is smiling. Mr. H asks what happened and Jimmy explained that they had a deal, where Luda would throw the match, so that Lover lost the title. The only condition was that Jimmy gave up his half to Luda after the deal was done. He said he was a man of his word but he was too good to associate with those two and that he didn’t care about them. Mr. H just smiled at the business sense of the three men and the ruthlessness of Jimmy.
The shot goes back to the arena, where the ring is cleared and an ambulance is parked at the bottom of the ramp. “Alright” plays out as Matt Hare walks out, Julio in a refs shirt, standing by him. Then “Superstar” by Saliva plays out and Ballistic comes out to a massive cheer from the crowd. As he walks past the Ambulance he nods at Julio, who was clearly waiting to ambush him. Julio looks away, very afraid but as soon as he thinks Ballistic isn’t looking he charges him. However Ballistic turns and slams Julio with a hard right, before smashing his head into the ambulance. Inside the ring Hare has climbed the top turnbuckle and has dived off. He flies through the air, slamming into Ballistic, who gets flattened on the ground. Julio, while holding his head, signals to ring the bell. Hare starts to take Ballistic up the ramp, kicking and punching him. Soon Ballistic regains his composure and Irish Whips Matt to the front of the Ambulance. Matt manages to stop himself and turns around just in time to get a drop toe hold on Ballistic, who hits his head against the bumper of the Ambulance. Hare calls Julio over and gets him to give him a leg up onto the car bonnet. He waits until Ballistic is up and he jumps off, ready to hit a double axe handle on his head. However Ballistic catches him, mid air and charges towards the Ambulance, slamming Hare onto the bonnet as he comes to it. Ballistic climbs up after him and takes Hare up onto the roof. Hare slowly rises to his feet and begins a fistfight with Ballistic, which he is quite clearly losing. Ballistic kicks Hare in the stomach and gets ready to hit him with the RKO but Hare pushes him away at the last second. As Ballistic comes back Hare gets his own kick in, this time to the groin. He shoves Ballistics head down and pulls back. He holds him perfectly straight and we can see every single one of Hares muscles straining to keep balance. He falls backwards quickly and hits a devastating Piledriver onto the roof, leaving a dent in it. Hare, waits for a few moments and catches his breath, before rolling Ballistic off of the roof and down to the back door. He knocks him off of the roof and jumps down with him. He and Julio open the doors and pick him up, throwing him inside and slamming the doors. Julio raises his hand in victory and the announcer says the winner is Hare
Officials come to the ring and take Ballistic out of the ambulance and then drive it out of the arena. We can see that Ballistic is bleeding from the top of his head from the Piledriver and is very groggy. As they are going up the ramp we can see the Cell being lowered once again, this time no barbed wire on it and the Aussie title comes down with it, this time hovering 25 feet over the top. Soon enough “Sex Machine” plays out of the speakers and Lover comes out to a big applause.
Lover doesn’t know if Nicho is coming or not and eventually, after 3 minutes of no show the ref informs us that the match will go ahead and that the first person to take the title wins the match. Lover stands around for a few more minutes, until he decides upon climbing for the title. He walks out of the Cell door and begins climbing the side of it. He gets a bit of the way up when the crowd begins cheering wildly. Nicho “Z” has come bolting out of the crowd, bandages on his head and around his stomach. He grabs Lover and pulls him off of the side of the cage, slamming him onto one of the tables, which are lying all around the outside. Lover howls in pain and the match gets going
There is no real wrestling at the start, with punches and general brawling happening, as well as some tables being set up. Soon enough the two find their way to the top of the Cell and begin brawling on the edge. Nicho gets the upper hand and ends up doing a scoop slam onto one of the ladders that aren’t set up. Nicho sets the ladder up and begins making his way up slowly. He gets halfway when Lover finally gets up and flies up the ladder, meeting Nicho at the top. They precariously hold on, while trying to knock the opponent off. Soon Lover hits a big punch on Nicho but instead of going for the title Lover does something crazy. He jumps off and tries to hit a “Sexy Factor” on Nicho, off of the top of the ladder. However Nicho just throws Lover face first off of the ladder. Lover lands on his front and is knocked out cold, leaving Nicho to grab the title and become the new Australian Champion. Nicho runs into the crowd to celebrate, after climbing from the Cell and the fans cheer like mad
Then we see Jonny in his locker room, Dizzy and Animal psyching him up for his title defense. Jonny shouts out and then jogs from the room, ready to go. Next thing we see is Luda coming to the ring in his coat, the Cell only halfway up by the time he gets in. Then the fans rise to their feet, they scream out in adoration for the World Champ, who is walking out calmly, World Title around his waist. He takes it off and raises it up to the crowd and then to Luda. Luda looks a little intimidated as they are going to start, but he shakes it off and gets ready to fight. The action is fast paced and extremely creative. There are a lot of move reversals and counters. Jonny goes for the Crossface but Luda turns it into an arm drag. Luda tries a Super Kick but it gets reversed to a T-Bone Suplex. Eventually Luda hits a spinning wheel kick on Jonny and goes to the top rope, ready to attack. He jumps off, going for the “Luda Meister” and he hits it. He covers but only gets a two count. He goes to the top again and jumps off only to have Jonny roll away. Jonny gets up and quickly goes for a Sit Down Powerbomb but as he goes to throw down Luda somehow gets him into a DDT, slamming him onto the mat. Luda quickly goes up top again and this time hits it. Luda hooks the leg, a hand slaps the mat, once, twice, thrice. The bell rings and the title changes hands, with Luda celebrating his new Championship and ending a 5 month reign of Jonny Stripes
After the match is cleaned up the final match of the night begins. “Ready” plays out and Disturbed comes out, psyched for his match. However he doesn’t get far as Jimmy attacks him before he can even get down. He whacks him on the head with a chair he brought from the back and pushes him off of the ramp. He falls right into one of the caskets, which were just being pushed out as Disturbed came out. The ref signaled that the match had begun and Jimmy ran down to Disturbed, who was lying, knocked out in the casket. Jimmy makes his body tidy and then pulls out a lock from his pocket, locking it on and keeping him in there. Jimmy jumps up and celebrates but from nowhere Joey Malone dives off the top of the stage, landing on Jimmy. The two men struggle to their feet and after 5 minutes find themselves next to the second casket. Joey goes for a Napoli Cutter but Jimmy pushes him into the casket, making it fall over. Joey turns around but only to find Jimmy hitting a hard clothesline on him. Joey goes to get up but Jimmy hits a running baseball slide kick on him, sending him into the casket, which is on its side.
Jimmy looks at the ref who is shouting “Ring the Bell”. Joey gets out of the casket to see Jimmy on his knees, the ref holding his hands above his head. The announcer shouts out to the crowd that Jimmy is going to Down Under 2 to fight for the World Heavyweight Title. Joey is leaning against the barrier wall, officials are breaking the lock on the first casket, letting a gasping Disturbed out. The show closes with all three men showing, Joey cursing the loss, Disturbed sitting up in the casket in disbelief and Jimmy on his knees, his hands covering his face. He is read to face the man he snubbed earlier in the night, Luda, who had just won the title in the match before.
